Northlight Mill, Brierfield

Northlight Mil is a major East Lancashire cotton mill redevelopment complex in Brierfield.

This former cotton mill, built in 1832, was purchased by Pendle Council in 2012 using a government grant from the Homes and Communities Agency fund. Ownership of the mill was then transferred to the pioneering regeneration joint venture between Barnfield Investment Properties Limited and Pendle Council, PEARL (Brierfield Mill).

The aim for the redevelopment of this 380,000 sqft complex with a new development name of NORTHLIGHT, is to help Pendle’s existing businesses to grow, help new businesses to start and attract investment into the area.

The Project

Barnfield construction took charge of this 200m2 project and aimed for a 4 month long installation process. They used RESITRIX CL for the field areas which was mechanically fixed to the substrate. RESITRIX SKW was used for any details and upstands.

RESITRIX was chosen by the main contractor Barnfield Construction as a more durable alternative to pvc single ply, which has often been known to become easily damage during the construction process.
