EPDM Roofing and Waterproofing Systems

Flat roofing systems and waterproofing systems need to withstand a lot. Changing weather conditions, flash floods, severe unpredictable weather and structural and mechanical influences, the list goes on. This ongoing wear and tear can cause conventional roofing systems to age rapidly.

Not so with EPDM roofing and waterproofing systems. Due to its molecular cross-linked structure, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM) is far more durable and flexible than conventional roofing systems. In fact, in 1963 the process for manufacturing EPDM was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Versatile and Flexible EPDM Roofing Systems

EPDM is a synthetic rubber which is completely weather-resistant and UV-resistant. Thanks to its extreme elasticity of more than 500%, it is the most flexible single ply membranes for waterproofing flat roofs, buildings and facades.

The Süddeutsches Kunststoff-Zentrum (SKZ), Germany’s largest plastics institute, tested our EPDM roofing membranes as part of a long-term study. As a result of this, they credited our EPDM with a service life of more than 50 years.

Thanks to the material quality of EPDM, it has extremely high level of chemical resistance; it is permanently resistant to bird faeces, numerous chemical emissions and other severe weather conditions. Furthermore,  it consists of ecologically sound materials and components. The roofing membranes contain absolutely no hazardous additives such as heavy metals, halogens or volatile softeners making ecologically safe and a sustainable waterproofing solution for flat roofs and facades.

Easy To Install EPDM Membranes

Our EPDM roofing and waterproofing systems are incredibly safe and easy to install. There is no need for naked flames and the membranes are welded using hot air.

Along with our RESITRIX® roofing membranes, which are available in 1 metre wide rolls, we also manufacture made to measure EPDM membranes (HERTALAN®), which are produced via a hot-bonding method, so there are no adhesives or other auxiliary agents, and fewer seam joins.

EPDM strips are bonded together homogeneously through hot vulcanisation. By using high pressure and precise preset temperatures, we are able to achieve a 100% secure bond  giving these bespoke membranes a consistent high quality. Our made to measure EPDM roofing membranes can be tailored to any specification, making them incredibly versatile and resulting in fast onsite installation.
